Marbella, 26th June 2023 – Last night, Club Med Magna Marbella welcomed the traditional charity dinner to raise funds for the Cesare Scariolo Foundation. An evening in which over 190 guests enjoyed a magical environment, in unity for a good cause.

The event, which the foundation organises every year, aims to help children with onco-haematological diseases and their families in every possible way, on a social, economic, recreational and psychological level. Some of the attendees included: Isabel Cintado, Delegate of Social Rights, Equality and Diversity from the Town Hall of Marbella, as well as Manuel Cardeña, Advisor at Acosol. Other well-known individuals from Marbella’s society such as Simona Gandolfi, Pedro Rodríguez (Sierra Blanca Estate), Juan José González (CIT Marbella) and Sandra García SanJuan (Starlite Occident) also attended. Personalities from the world of basketball, such as Zelko Obradovic and Goran Sasic, who wanted to accompany Sergio Scariolo and Blanca Ares in this fifteenth anniversary of the Foundation, were also at the event. It was an evening full of surprises, including a sports solidarity raffle with prizes such as T-shirts signed by Cristiano Ronaldo, Pau Gasol, Fernando Alonso and Rafa Nadal, as well as numerous gifts that several companies gave selflessly to the Foundation.

For 15 years, the Foundation has been working to improve the lives of children with cancer and their families. “It is work that is carried out with complete transparency,” explained Sergio Scariolo. Among the acknowledgements, were the collaboration of Wennare Art Productions for preparing such a special evening, the sponsorship of LWM OPTEAM and Famadesa and all the collaborators and companies that donated gifts for the raffle that was held afterwards.

For the first time at a charity dinner on the Costa del Sol, the attendees were able to enjoy a first class performance by Wennare Art Productions which impressed the guests with four pieces of classical ballet, led by the guest duo Bogdan Canila and Cristina Dijmaru, lead dancers of the Bucharest National Opera, who were also joined by local artists such as Vasilisa Ulkina, Yuri Gudushauri and Juan Aragón. Also, the performing arts production company offered a concert with violin, piano and cello pieces by musicians from Málaga. The grand finale of the performance consisted of a Grand Pas de Deux from Don Quijote which left the audience spellbound.

This year, the Foundation will dedicate all of the funds raised at the charity dinner to the “I am ready” project, which assists with child cancer patients’ admission to transplant wards and the isolation they must face beforehand.

The FCS will collaborate alongside Nixi for Children and the Ricky Rubio Foundation in this initiative, which by using the experience of virtual reality, offers a tour by an animated character named “Nixi” around the facilities where the treatment will take place, whilst explaining what it consists of.
