Marbella, 2 Août 2016: Ce week-end dernier, le Antonio Banderas Plaza est devenu la scène d’accueil pour les festivités du ‘Festival Kowait-Espagne’ à Marbella. Il a présenté journées de voyages à travers des cultures qui ravissaient des centaines de participants multinationaux, qui sont venu observer de nombreuses performances et des produits traditionnels venant des deux pays.

Le festival était gratuit et ouvert à tous public, quel que soit la religion ou bien la culture. Il était destiné à rapprocher le Kowait et la ville ensemble. Abrar Al Masoud, l’organisateur de l’évènement fut très clair sur le sujet et sur son objectif initial, il a également dit : « Cette idée est née dû à mon amour pour ce pays, en particulier Marbella, où j’ai énormément de souvenirs d’enfance que j’ai chérit et que je chérirais encore pour de nombreuses années.           J’espère que cet évènement a pu renforcer les relations entre l’Espagne et le Kowait concernant l’économie, la politique, la culture, l’art et le tourisme parmi d’autres. En outre, par différentes manières il a été trouvé un moyen d’élargir les liens entre ces deux pays et que tout le monde ait avoir pu la chance de plus en apprendre sur la culture du Kowait. »

Le festival a commencé et ouvert ce dernier vendredi 29 juillet avec une apparition très spéciale de Mesheal Abdelmohsen Alsaed, l’Ambassadeur adjoint de l’Ambassade du Kowait, ainsi que José Bernal, le maire de Marbella et Javier Porcuna  conseiller de l’Office du Tourisme et député municipal. En gage de gratitude et de reconnaissance, un petit trophée sous forme de bâteau avec l’emblème d’un représentant du Koweit a été donné au Comité de Marbella, à l’Ambassadeur du Kowait ainsi que l’entrepreneur Ernesto Gutiérrez pour leur « solide soutien et collaboration ». De plus, durant le samedi il était possible de voir des simulations de mariage Koweitien, et a été de même ce qui a fait le plus écho en tant que spectacle du week-end.

Pendant ces 3 jours de festival, une multitude de groupes de flamenco et de danses Koweitienne ont pu se donner en spectale. Parmi eux, l’une des renommées écoles de danse municipale a performé : Marta Álvarez, Sandra Vázquez, Loli Ropero, Karina Parra, Eli García y las Hermanas Maldonado. Pour honorer le Kowait, un traditionnel groupe de musique Koweitien a joué aussi en fusion avec Eimar, accompagné d’un spectacle de danse de Sonia Al Andalus. Les entreprises et les agences espagnoles qui avaient leur propre stand au festival furent très satisfaits pas seulement à par les ventes mais aussi par la publicité gagné durant le week-end.

Pour conclure, le Festival Kowait-Espagne a vu terminé sa première édition avec un incroyable succès et participation, spécialement de la part du Kowait et du public Arabe qui a généralement démontré un intérêt et un enthousiasme particulier à l’évènement tout au long du week-end.

Marbella, 25th July 2016: this morning marks the official presentation for the Festival Kuwait-Spain that takes places on 29, 30 and 31^st July at the Antonio Banderas Plaza in Puerto Banús and will last from early evening till midnight.

This totally free event is open to people of all religions and cultures, with the aim to fortify relations between Spain and Kuwait. Through-out the three days, the focus will be to celebrate the relationship between these two countries. Moreover the stalls on display will allow you to learn about the art, culture and tourism that form the identity of both these nations.

With support from the Third Secretary, Head of the Kuwait Ambassador Office in Málaga, Mohammad Amér Al Hajeri, the CEO and organiser of the event, Abrar Faisal Al Masoud and as representatives from the Marbella Council, the Deputy Mayor and Tourism Councillor, Javier Porcuna, and the Head of Tourism, Miguel Luna the press release reported:

“This idea was born because of my love for this country, in particular Marbella, where I have many fond childhood memories that I will treasure for many years. I hope this event sheds some light on the relationship between Spain and Kuwait in relation to the economy, politics, culture, art and tourism amongst others. Therefore creating a way to extend links between both countries and that everyone may have the chance to learn about the culture of Kuwait”, stated Al Masoud. Abrar was insistent on using this opportunity to thank the municipality and the embassy in their cooperation in inviting everyone to attend this cultural event. As a Future Group initiative, their director described this event as, “a gift we want to give to Spain y Kuwait”, to which she then added, “next year we hope to put on a bigger festival, only this time with all the countries from the Arabian Gulf”.

The Third Secretary, Head of the Kuwait Ambassador in Málaga Mohammad Amér Al Hajeri confirmed that, “The Kuwait embassy will strive to support tourism between the two countries by means of establishing a service aimed at satisfying the interests and desires of the Kuwait citizens in the Malaga province and the south of Spain.” He believes that, “Spain is considered as one of the most popular destinations for the people of Kuwait” because not only does the number of Kuwaiti visitors increase each year, but also from the high number of residential properties they have in Spain. Al Hajeri explained that this festival will be part of the framework of events organised by the Embassy to promote tourism activities. He wanted to emphasize that the institution “has concentrated to maximise” all efforts towards helping the activities achieve the greatest success.

With regard to the Deputy Mayor and Tourism Councillor, Javier Porcuna and the Head of Tourism, Miguel Luna, they both wanted to give their most sincere gratitude for this initiative that will reinforce the “long and close existing relationship between Marbella and Kuwait.” To host an event of this scale in the city is “a pleasure and an honour”, which the Head of Tourism and Marbella council have promised to invest all their efforts.

The festival commences next Friday 29th July at 8pm with a special guest appearance from the Vice Ambassador of the Kuwait Embassy, Mesheal Abdelmohsen Alsaed as well as the Mayor of Marbella, José Bernal. Over the course of the festival, there will be flamenco and Kuwait danza performances, whose participation and collaboration “has been gratuitous” and will undoubtedly entertain the attendees. What´s more small vendors from both countries will have different stands on display through-out the three days. These will include artisan crafts, typical Kuwaiti clothing and food as well as traditional and cultural pieces of art. In addition there will also be a similar Spanish area to the event that will represent the solidarity between both nations. This event is open to people of all nationalities during the 29, 30 and 31^st July, held at the Antonio Banderas Plaza from 7pm till midnight. 

As a sign of gratitude and recognition to Marbella Council, the Mayor and the Ambassador, a small award will be given for all their hard work over the course of the festival.

Marbella, 25 de julio 2016: esta mañana se ha celebrado la presentación oficial del ‘Festival Kuwait Spain in Marbella’ que tendrá lugar los próximos 29, 30 y 31 de julio en la Plaza Antonio Banderas de Puerto Banús en horario de tarde hasta media noche.

Este evento, totalmente gratuito y abierto a todas las religiones y culturas, tiene por objetivo estrechar relaciones entre España y Kuwait. Para ello, el proyecto se enfocará en la historia de ambos países y un resumen de su relación a lo largo de los años. Además numerosas exhibiciones permitirán descubrir el arte, la cultura y el turismo que forman parte de la identidad de cada uno de ellos.

La rueda de prensa ha contado con el respaldo del Jefe de la oficina de la Embajada del Estado de Kuwait en Málaga, Tercer Secretario, Mohammad Amér Al Hajeri, de la directora general de Future Group y organizadora del evento,  Abrar Faisal Almasoud y, por parte del Ayuntamiento de Marbella, con el Teniente de Alcalde y Concejal de Turismo, Javier Porcuna, y el Responsable de Turismo, Miguel Luna.

“Esta idea nace de mi amor hacia este país y en concreto hacia Marbella, donde desde muy pequeña he pasado momentos maravillosos de los que guardo un grato recuerdo. Quiero que este encuentro arroje un rayo de luz en las relaciones entre España y Kuwait en torno a la economía, la política, la cultura, el arte y el turismo, entre otros. Una forma de estrechar lazos entre ambos países y que todos puedan conocer en profundidad la cultura kuwaití”, ha apuntado Almasoud. La organizadora no ha querido perder la ocasión de agradecer al Consistorio y a la Embajada su colaboración así como invitar a todos a visitar este encuentro cultural. Iniciativa de la empresa Future Group, su directora ha descrito este evento como “un regalo que queremos hacer a España”, a lo que ha añadido: “el año que viene haremos un festival mayor, con la participación de todos los países del Golfo Arábigo”.

El Jefe de la oficina de la Embajada del Estado de Kuwait en Málaga, Tercer Secretario, Mohammad Amér Al Hajeri, por su parte, ha afirmado que “la Embajada de Kuwait se afana en apoyar el turismo entre su país y España mediante la creación de un servicio encargado de velar por los intereses de los ciudadanos Kuwaitíes en la provincia de Málaga y en el Sur de España”. Para él, “España se considera uno de los destinos preferidos de los kuwaitíes”, no solo palpable por el elevado número que cada año visitan el país sino también por el número de ciudadanos propietarios de residencias en España. Al Hajeri ha explicado que este festival se inscribe en el marco de las actividades organizadas por la Embajada de  Kuwait en España con el objetivo de promocionar las actividades turísticas y ha querido hacer hincapié en que la institución “se ha volcado” en prestar su ayuda para que éstas tengan éxito.

En cuanto al Teniente de Alcalde y Concejal de Turismo, Javier Porcuna, y el Responsable de Turismo, Miguel Luna, ambos han querido agradecer la iniciativa y han expresado sentirse encantados con una idea que viene a reforzar la “larga y estrecha relación existente desde hace años entre Marbella y Kuwait”. Que se celebre un evento de estas dimensiones en la ciudad es para ellos “un placer y un honor” en el que tanto la Delegación de Turismo y el Ayuntamiento de Marbella han puesto todos sus esfuerzos.

El festival comenzará el próximo viernes 29 de julio a las 20.00 horas con una inauguración muy especial apoyada por la presencia del vice embajador de la Embajada de Kuwait, Mesheal Abdelmohsen Alsaed, así como la del alcalde de Marbella, José Bernal. Tanto el viernes, como el sábado y el domingo, se disfrutará además de actividades de grupos flamencos y de danza kuwaití, cuya participación y colaboración “ha sido desinteresada” y que harán las delicias de todos los asistentes. Por otro lado, a lo largo de los tres días, habrá diferentes stands procedentes de empresas originarias de ambos países, éstos incluirán productos artesanos, comida y ropa de Kuwait, una forma de mostrar el arte tradicional y cultural del país, a los que se sumarán también un área española para representar la solidaridad entre ambas naciones. Cualquier persona de cualquier nacionalidad puede acercarse a lo largo de los días 29, 30 y 31 de julio a la Plaza Antonio Banderas de 19.00 a 00.00 horas.

En señal de agradecimiento, uno de los momentos con los que contará el festival será el reconocimiento del Ayuntamiento de Marbella y su alcalde, así como a la Embajada de Kuwait a los que se entregará una pequeña condecoración.
