\u00b4TOWARDS NATURE\u00b4 EVENT INSPIRED ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS IN MARBELLA<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>On the 14th and 15th of October, Marbella\u00b4s Palacio de Congresos united nearly a thousand people to meet Johan Ernst Nilson, one of the World’s greatest activists<\/em><\/p>\n

Marbella, October 16, 2019.- <\/strong>At a time where the environmental crisis is a reality, it is increasingly important to raise awareness and start taking action in order to protect the environment and conserve biodiversity. Now more than ever, a change of mind-set must be put into effect to improve the situation for future generations. Indeed, the best legacy that can be left to the younger generation is a habitable planet, and this is clear for the organisers of TOWARDS NATURE, the most important environmental event hosted by Marbella so far.<\/p>\n

TOWARDS NATURE, which took place on the 14th and 15th of October, managed to unite people; children, teenagers and adults, in a unique encounter with nature of which the protagonist was Johan Ernst Nilson, all the way from Sweden. An excellent way to grasp the reality of the ecological risk, through an exceptional witness who has travelled the world and seen it with his own eyes.<\/p>\n

Johan is a major environmental activist and climate change advocate who promotes global environmental education through talks that inspire hundreds of thousands of people. Guided by his adventurous spirit and his unconditional love for life, Johan has travelled to more than 175 countries and 50% of his time and efforts are dedicated to charity. But what stands out most for him is the strength to overcome, which he spreads through words and reaches the hearts of his listeners with a very clear message: \u00b4Everything is possible, the impossible just takes more time\u00b4.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

A total of almost a thousand people have witnessed this and have been able to participate actively in giving their views on combating the ecological crisis. For him, nature is the only thing that is really indispensable for man; \u00b4we have created the concept of poverty ourselves, but the reality is that only with what the Earth itself gives us, we would have the needs met \u0301<\/em>. For two days there have been various musical performances as well as presentations by the students who took this reflection on the environment very seriously and were able to start raising awareness about it. As Johan said: \u00b4Everything starts with the little things. We have the way to change the world in our hands but the question is whether we want to do it\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n

Recounting his own experiences, having explored different corners of the planet for more than 25 years of his life, Johan advised young people to pursue their goals and dreams, and to not be discouraged. He also pointed out how climate change can affect their future, and to this effect, has inspired them and their parents to take action, to face the problem and to fight as a family for a better world. He says that today \u00b4children are 25% of the world\u2019s population, and 100% of our future\u00b4<\/em>, and that the key is within them, those who have the wish to change the situation we experience today.<\/p>\n

Johan and his larger than life personality wanted to get across the harsh reality that the Earth faces by declaring: \u00b4We have the responsibility to choose good rulers who make the right decisions, but we must also adopt small changes in our day-to-day lives that are not difficult to carry out but are important when they are combined in the pursuit of greater respect for nature and the environment.\u00b4<\/em><\/p>\n

The two-day event was also attended by the director of Culture Carmen D\u00edaz and the director of the Environment Victoria Mart\u00edn Lome\u00f1a, along with the organiser of this initiative Alexandra Kondrashova and Javier P\u00e9rez Bened\u00ed de Marbellayuda.<\/p>\n

Some of Marbella\u00b4s educational institutions participated in the event with wonderful enthusiasm. The organisers would like to thank the students of LAUDE San Pedro International College, Atalaya Bilingual College, San Jos\u00e9 College, Sotogrande International School, Marbella Montessori School and English International College for their moving performances. In addition, Les Roches, MIUC, Marbella Design Academy and The American College collaborated with the TOWARDS NATURE event.<\/p>\n

The event was organised by the environmental charity Goodwill Meridian Fund together with the agencies; Events Couture Marbella and Marie-No\u00eblle Communication<\/strong><\/a>. The Marbella Town Hall has also given its support along with, Garcatri Deluxe Transport, Marbella Club Hotel, Gestoria Bocanegra, HSE School of Art and Design, Calidad Pascual, Doss by Da Bruno, Breathe Marbella, Reprofast and Aguaencajamejor.<\/p>\n

All funds raised from the event are being donated to the Foundation MarbellAyuda with its program to renovate the paediatric area in the Costa del Sol Hospital, and to the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation with its Climate Change scheme.<\/p>\n
